Comment

In a Nutshell

A comment is a written reaction users give about content. In theory: feedback. In practice: the risky area where the brand touches real life.

What It Really Means

The comment is where the brand steps outside its zone of control on social media. The content leaves the brand, and people respond to it with their own words.

Good comments strengthen the brand. Bad comments can start a crisis. But the most valuable thing is when comments tell the brand something real.

Some brands see comments only as risks to be managed. Yet comments are live data showing how people read the brand.

The comment section is the brand's mirror. Sometimes it shows things the brand doesn't want to see.
