Execution

In a Nutshell

Execution is the process of turning the idea into a real design, film, ad, content, or campaign. In theory: bringing to life. In practice: the idea colliding with the real world.

What It Really Means

Execution is the real test of the idea that looked good in the presentation. Because an idea is free on paper. In execution, budget, time, technical limits, formats, and approval processes come into play.

It's not enough for an idea to be good. It needs to be executable. If execution is weak, even a good idea loses its impact.

In agencies, execution is often seen as the less glamorous side of the creative process. Yet without good execution, a good idea remains invisible.

Execution is the idea's reality test.
